Inter Milan have made a bid of €45 million for Ademola Lookman, Atalanta and Super Eagles attacker.

Fabrizio Romano, Italian journalist and transfer expert, disclosed this on Tuesday in a post he shared on his official X account.

“Inter Milan have presented a new bid to Atalanta for Ademola Lookman today. The offer is worth €40m plus €5m add-ons,” Romano said.

“Atalanta have, however, insisted on a higher fee. There is no agreement yet between the two clubs at this stage.”

Gianluca Di Marzio, another Italian journalist, a few weeks ago revealed that Inter had agreed personal terms with Lookman, who is their top transfer target for the attack.

Di Marzio and Romano had also disclosed then that Lookman still harboured plans to leave Atalanta this summer.

They added that Inter made an opening bid of €40m for the Nigerian international after positive talks with his camp but Atalanta wanted more.

Atalanta could be tempted into selling Lookman under the right circumstances this summer but Inter will be hard-pressed to match La Dea’s current valuation of the reigning African Player of the Year.

Atalanta will seek a fee in excess of €50m for his services this summer, Football Italia understands. That is not including add-ons or any potential players in exchange.

Lookman bagged 20 goals and seven assists from 40 appearances across all competitions in the 2024/25 campaign.

He had reached a tally of 17 goals and 10 assists in 2023-24, a season that won him the African Player of the Year award.
