Reno Omokri, a major critic of Peter Obi has congratulated the Labour Party (LP) chieftain on the occasion of his 64th birthday.
Omokri surprisingly took to his official X account on Saturday morning to wish Obi a happy birthday despite his constant criticism of the former Anambra State Governor on social media.
“Here is wishing Peter Obi a happy 64th birthday. May God bless you and make you a better person. My family and I pray for your health and continued wealth, even as we wish for you to grow in stealth,” the former presidential aide wrote on X.
“May biblical goodness and mercy be your life story henceforth, and may God reward you for your recent works of charity. Happy birthday, Peter Gregory Obi, a worthy son of Nigeria.”
Omokri earlier this week slammed Obi over his absence at the burial of Muhammadu Buhari, the former President who died last Sunday.
President Bola Tinubu led a high-level federal government delegation that included Vice President Kashim Shettima to Buhari’s burial ceremony which was also attended by many state governors and former public officials in Daura, Katsina State on Tuesday but Obi was noticeably missing.
Omokri who is an avid critic of Obi thereafter took to his official X account on Tuesday night to slam the LP flagbearer during the 2023 presidential election for not attending Buhari’s burial.
“President Bola Tinubu was in Daura from beginning to end, showing his personal devotion to General Muhammadu Buhari and his commitment to the North. Arewa, remember who was not there!,” Omokri wrote.
“On October 19, 2024, during General Gowon’s 90th birthday, Peter Obi called him “an enemy” to be forgiven. His exacts words. And today, when General Buhari, the successor to Ahmadu Bello, was being buried, Peter Obi was nowhere to be found.
“Meanwhile, last week, he said Nnamdi Kanu’s trial “makes no sense.” Again, these are his exact words. This is the same Nnamdi Kanu who says the vilest things about Arewa and lied that General Buhari died in 2017 and was replaced by a clone from Sudan named Jubril. Arewa, isn’t the handwriting on the wall clear?”
