The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), through its Kano Operations Office, played a key role in the successful reception of 294 Nigerian migrant returnees from Agadez, Niger Republic, on Monday, July 14, 2025.
The returnees, according to a statement by NEMA, arrived at the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA) aboard two chartered flights that brought the stranded Nigerians, safe and dignified back home.
NEMA stated that he first flight, operated by Sky Mali, touched down at approximately 1:30 pm with 148 returnees, with the second arriving at about 4:29 pm, carrying 146 returnees, also from Agadez.
Upon arrival, the returnees were transported to the Hajj Camp Terminal for reception, profiling, and documentation by relevant stakeholders, including NEMA and its partners.
After the documentation process, they were provided with transport fare to facilitate their return to their respective destinations.
“The reception exercise was efficiently coordinated and concluded successfully, with all stakeholders working together to ensure a smooth and dignified process,” NEMA said.
