Mohammed Umaru Bago, Niger State governor, has expressed deep shock over the passing of Gregory Ossai Ozeigbe, a consultant with the state who collapsed and died inside the government house in Minna on Monday.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, the governor said, “The demise of Mr. Ozegbe is a monumental loss not only to his immediate family but Niger State in general.”

He noted that the late consultant was a vital contributor to the New Niger Agenda, particularly through his professional input in the ongoing Minna Hilton Hotel construction project.

Governor Bago, while commiserating with the bereaved family, urged them to remain strong and continue to pray for the peaceful repose of his soul.

“The late Ozeigbe lived a fulfilled life and will continue to be remembered for his good works,” the governor said, praying that “God, in His ultimate mercies, continue to rest his soul.”

Gregory Ozeigbe, chairman and CEO of Castle HMG Hospitality, was 69 years old and a graduate of Architecture from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria.
