Nigeria’s Super Eagles will face Algeria in the quarter-finals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations following Algeria’s dramatic 1–0 victory over DR Congo after extra time in their round-of-16 clash on Tuesday in Rabat.

Substitute Anis Boulbina scored the decisive goal in the 119th minute, firing a powerful shot into the top corner to secure Algeria’s place in the last eight.

The result sets up a highly anticipated quarter-final showdown with Nigeria, who booked their spot on Monday after a dominant 4–0 win over Mozambique.

The Super Eagles are scheduled to take on Algeria on January 10 as they continue their quest for a fourth AFCON title.
