The Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has lowered the benchmark interest rate from 27.5% to 27%, marking the first rate cut of the year.
The announcement was made by CBN Governor Olayemi Cardoso during a press briefing on Tuesday, following the committee’s 302nd meeting held in Abuja.
