Manchester United have officially announced the signing of Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford.

In a statement released on Monday, the club confirmed that Mbeumo has signed a five-year deal with the Red Devils, with an option to extend by an additional year.

“Manchester United is pleased to confirm that Bryan Mbeumo has joined the club, subject to registration,” the club stated.

“The Cameroon international has signed a contract until June 2030, with the option to extend for a further year.”

According to the BBC, the 25-year-old joins United for an initial fee of £65 million.

Speaking after completing the transfer, Mbeumo said he was thrilled to join the club he has supported since childhood.

“As soon as I knew there was a chance to join Manchester United, I had to take the opportunity to sign for the club of my dreams; the team whose shirt I wore growing up,” the forward said.

The striker, who netted 20 goals last season with mid-table Brentford, expressed confidence in his ability to help United return to title contention.

“My mentality is to always be better than I was yesterday. I know that I have the spirit and character to reach another level here learning from Ruben Amorim and playing alongside world-class players.

“Everybody told me about the environment that is being created here and how exciting the plans are for the future. This is a massive club, with an incredible stadium and amazing fans, we are all really determined to challenge for the biggest trophies.”

Mbeumo becomes the third signing of the summer under new manager Ruben Amorim, joining Matheus Cunha and Diego Leon.

Manchester United endured a disappointing campaign last season, finishing 16th — their worst-ever Premier League finish. However, the club’s director of football, Jason Wilcox, believes Mbeumo’s proven goal-scoring record in the EPL could help reignite the team’s competitive edge.
