The Kano State Police Command has arrested eleven students of Government Boarding Secondary School in Bichi in connection with the deaths of two classmates.
Abdullahi Haruna, Spokesperson for the command, confirmed the arrests, stating that the suspects are under interrogation to determine their involvement.
The victims, Hamza Idris Tofawa and Umar Yusuf Dungurawa, reportedly died after being attacked with metal objects known as “Gwale-Gwale.”
Dr. Ali Haruna Makoda, the state Commissioner for Education, has also called for a thorough investigation into the incident.
The police have committed to pursuing the case to ensure that those responsible face prosecution.
Authorities have not yet confirmed if the incident is linked to cult activity or bullying, and the motive remains under investigation.
