Senator Oluremi Tinubu, Nigeria’s First Lady, has called for ongoing efforts to empower rural communities in addressing challenges such as climate change, economic instability, and conflicts.
In a message commemorating the 2025 World Rural Development Day, themed “Rural Development: Resilience to Global Change,” Senator Tinubu highlighted the necessity of building resilience within rural populations as a cornerstone for national development.
Senator Tinubu urged stakeholders to collaborate to ensure that all communities benefit from national development plans.
“Let us work together to ensure that no community is left behind as we build a stronger, more resilient Nigeria,” she stated.
The First Lady’s message aligns with broader global discussions on sustainable development, particularly highlighting the role of rural areas in promoting food security, environmental stewardship, and social stability.
