Why RCCG members can’t contract coronavirus – Pastor Adeboye

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has reacted to the recently confirmed case of Coronavirus in Nigeria, saying members of his church cannot contract the deadly disease.

The Witness reports that in a video posted on his verified social media handles on Saturday, Pastor Adeboye stated that no member of the RCCG would contract the virus. He made a reference to Coronavirus, saying this is time for God to show there’s a difference between those who serve Him and those who do not.

His words: “I want to assure you that there’s no virus that will come near you at all. Because it is written that those that dwell in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I want to believe this is time for God to show clearly there’s a difference between those who serve Him wholeheartedly and those who do not.”

On Friday, the Lagos state government and the federal ministry of health confirmed the first case of coronavirus in Nigeria. The index patient is an Italian who arrived in the country on Tuesday, February 25.

Pastor Adeboye talks tough on Coronavirus

Dr Osagie Ehanire, the minister of health, confirmed the case in a statement issued in the early hours of Friday, February 28, 2020, saying that the case involves an Italian citizen who works in Nigeria and just returned from Milan, Italy on the 25th of February 2020.

This online news platform understands that the statement said the Italian was confirmed to be positive by the Virology Laboratory of the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, part of the Laboratory Network of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
