Three children die as building collapses in Jigawa

Three children have died in a building collapse caused by a heavy rain which lasted hours at Jigawar Tsada, Dutse Local Government Area of Jigawa State.

The victims were identified as six-year-old Farida Idi, three-year-old Mariya Idi, and 18-month-old Bilkisu Yahya all of Yakasai Jigawar Tsada village.

A statement by the state Public Relations Officer, Lawan Shiisu Adam, said the victims died on the spot.

“On receipt of the report, detectives moved to the scene, evacuated their remaining and rushed to General Hospital Dutse where the Medical Doctor on duty certified them dead,” the statement read.

He added that the corpses were photographed and released to the vicitms’ relatives for burial.
