The Presidency has called for legal action against Martins Vincent Otse,, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), a social media influencer VeryDarkMan over the circulation of an alleged fake audio linked to President Bola Tinubu.

Bayo Onanuga, special adviser to the president on information and strategy made the call in a post shared on X on Wednesday, accusing the influencer of spreading false information online.

According to Onanuga, the viral audio allegedly attributed to Tinubu amounted to misinformation and abuse of social media platforms.

“This VDM needs to face the weight of the law for being the conveyor and disseminator of a fake audio of President Tinubu. This is a clear case of an egregious abuse of the social media platform,” he wrote.

The presidential aide reacted after an X user identified as Aneex questioned why some Nigerians believed the voice in the viral recording belonged to the President.

The user reportedly described the audio as “cheap propaganda” and accused VeryDarkMan of exploiting emotions to spread misleading content online.
