Mansoureh Khojasteh Bagherzadeh, wife of Iran’s late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has died in Tehran.

It was gathered that she died after sustaining injuries during a joint United States–Israeli military strike.

Iranian state media reported on Monday that the 79-year-old had been in a coma since Saturday following air raids that targeted multiple locations in and around the Iranian capital.

The strikes were said to have killed Khamenei and other senior officials.

Born in Mashhad in 1947, Bagherzadeh married Khamenei in 1965 and remained a prominent figure within Iran’s clerical establishment throughout his leadership.

More details to come…
