Parents of Nigerian students studying abroad blocked the entrance to the Federal Ministry of Finance in Abuja on Monday, demanding payment of outstanding allowances for their children.

The students, on government scholarships under various bilateral education agreements, have reportedly gone 16 months without stipends, with an additional eight-month shortfall still unpaid.

The protest highlights growing frustration over delays in the disbursement of foreign study allowances.
