Lt.-Gen Waidi Shaibu, the Chief of Army Staff has reaffirmed the Nigerian Army’s commitment to decisively tackle terrorism and other security threats across the country.
Shaibu made the remarks during the 75th Army Headquarters Departments and Commands West African Social Activities (WASA) in Abuja.
According to Shaibu, “the army is a professional, adaptable, and combat-ready force dedicated to safeguarding Nigeria’s peace, stability, and strategic interests.
“Our soldiers have consistently demonstrated unwavering commitment in the fight against terrorism and internal security threats. Peace and security are vital for meaningful development, and we shall crush the terrorists.”
He emphasised that operational readiness is tied to welfare, noting policies to ensure troops remain motivated and mission-focused while their families are supported.
“A motivated soldier is a force multiplier. The Soldier-First Culture under my Command Philosophy guides every initiative we undertake,” Shaibu added.
The COAS also expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu, commended the minister of Defence, retired Gen. Christopher Musa, the Chief of Defence Staff, and other service chiefs for their guidance and support.
Shaibu added that events like WASA not only celebrate achievements but also strengthen bonds among units and families, motivating personnel to serve with dedication and professionalism.
