Elusoji Oluwasegun Roland, a Nigerian property merchant has been declared wanted by the Nigerian Police Force over an alleged ₦1.2 billion fraud.
In a bulletin signed by the Commissioner of Police, Special Fraud Unit (SFU), Force CID Annex, Alagbon Close, Ikoyi, Lagos, and issued under the authority of the Inspector General of Police, the force confirmed that the Federal High Court, Lagos, had issued a warrant of arrest against Roland.
According to investigators, Roland allegedly deceived victims into investing huge sums of money under the pretext of high-value ventures. He reportedly received ₦232 million for the purchase of a 2024 Mercedes Benz GLE 63S (black, VIN: 4JGFDBKB2RB134498).
In addition, he allegedly secured ₦525 million to acquire a first mansion and a further ₦450 million for a second property, bringing the total fraud to about ₦1.2 billion. The offences were said to have been committed in the United States of America in November 2023.
The case has raised questions about cross-border financial crimes and how Nigerian fraud suspects operate internationally, often evading immediate accountability until formal warrants are issued.
Police described Elusoji Oluwasegun Roland as a Yoruba man, over 40 years old, standing about 5 feet 2 inches tall, dark in complexion, with thick lips, white teeth, a rounded chin, a large forehead, and black eyes. He is said to often appear in casual clothing. His last known address was given as 9997 S. Whimbrei GR, Conroe, Texas, USA.
A circular from the SFU stated: “The above-named person is hereby declared wanted by the Nigeria Police Force.
