Bandits have kidnapped Ibrahim Sarkin Fada, the district head of Kasuwar Daji, Kaura-Namoda LGA of Zamfara state.
Reports said the district head was abducted in his residence during the early hours of Thursday.
Mohammed Shehu, police spokesperson in the state, confirmed the development on Thursday.
Shehu said the command has mobilised a search and rescue team to ensure the district head is set free.
He called on members of the public to assist the command with relevant information that will help in rescuing the district head.
“The command’s search and rescue team is working tirelessly to ensure the safe rescue of the victim. Calling on the public to support the police with credible information to achieve the mandate,” he said.
Kaura-Namoda is one of the LGAs in Zamfara where banditry activities are active.
Despite the relative success recorded by security operatives in combating terrorist operations recently, vulnerable communities across the country are still being targeted.
