The Adamawa state police command has arrested two suspects and recovered 197 sachets of Tramadol during a border patrol operation.
The Command said the suspects were intercepted by operatives of the Border Patrol Fufore unit while allegedly transporting the drugs for onward smuggling into Cameroon.
Police identified the suspects as Muhammad Mustapha, 32, from Kano State, and Muhammad Sanusi, 48, from Garoua in Cameroon.
According to the police, preliminary investigations revealed that the drugs were moved from a South-Eastern state through Adamawa before they intercepted.
Dankombo Morris, the commissioner of police commended the officers involved in the operation and directed the command’s monitoring unit to take over the investigation.
The command reiterated its commitment to tackling drug trafficking and other cross-border crimes in the state.
