The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has received sensitive materials for Saturday’s bye-elections in Ahoada East Constituency II and Khana Constituency II of Rivers State.
The materials were delivered on Friday at the Port Harcourt branch of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) in the presence of political party representatives.
Leaders of various political parties observed the inspection process in line with electoral transparency guidelines.
Speaking after the exercise, Secretary of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) in Rivers State and Chairman of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), Ben Ogbobula, expressed satisfaction with the condition of the materials.
“We inspected the materials and confirmed that everything is intact. The process was transparent, and we are satisfied with what we have seen,” Ogbobula said.
The bye-elections are scheduled to hold on Saturday, February 21.
