The Kwara State Government has responded to a viral video allegedly released by armed bandits.

This follows the February 3 attack on the Woro community in Kaiama Local Government Area.

Bolanle Olukoju, Commissioner for Communications, confirmed in a statement that the footage is being reviewed by authorities.

According to Olukoju, the government is concerned about the disturbing clip said to show some individuals taken during the attack.

She noted that security agencies are analysing the video to verify the identities of those seen.

According to the statement, the administration remains committed to securing the safe return of all affected residents.

The government explained that conflicting reports have emerged regarding the number of people killed or abducted during the invasion.

Community leaders in Woro have been engaged to help identify individuals in the footage.

According to the government, a few persons have been preliminarily identified as residents, while others are still unaccounted for.

It added that some initially reported missing have reunited with their families, while others may have relocated temporarily to neighbouring communities such as Wawa and New Bussa in Niger State.

The response committee, led by Ahmed Ibn Muhammed, continues to coordinate with security agencies and local stakeholders to support affected families and facilitate safe returns.

Residents were urged to remain calm, avoid spreading unverified information and cooperate with authorities as investigations continue.
