The Enugu State Police have dismantled a local firearms fabrication workshop in the Udi Local Government Area.
During the operation, police recovered several weapons, including a locally made cut-to-size gun, two English double-barrel guns, eight single-barrel guns, and various firearms repair tools.
This action followed the arrest of Ekene Okafor, 32, a member of the Supreme Vikings Confraternity, who led the operatives to the workshop. The workshop’s owner fled when police arrived, and efforts are underway to apprehend him.
Commissioner of Police Mamman Giwa commended the operatives for their efforts in combating illegal firearms. The Command urged the public to remain vigilant and provide credible information to the police.
