The House of Representatives will today hold a public hearing on the proposed National Assembly Infrastructure and Property Agency (Establishment) Bill, 2025 (HB. 2072).
The lawmakers revealed that the move is in line with their ongoing legislative efforts to institutionalise infrastructure development and maintenance within the legislature.
In a statement posted on the official X handle of the House of Representatives on Monday morning, the bill intends to establish an independent agency responsible for the construction, development, and maintenance of the National Assembly infrastructure and properties.
The hearing is being convened by the House Committee on House Services and is expected to draw participation from stakeholders, civil society organisations, professional bodies, development partners, the media, and the general public.
Rep. Amos Daniel (PDP, Kaduna), the committee chairman,  said that the hearing reflects the inclusive and participatory approach of the 10th Assembly to lawmaking..
“We believe that hearing from a diverse range of stakeholders will enrich the legislative process and ensure that the outcome reflects the best interests of the Nigerian people,” he said.
The hearing is scheduled to take place at 10:00 AM on Monday, July 7, 2025, at Conference Hall 0.28 in the new House of Representatives building within the National Assembly Complex, Abuja.
Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, PhD., GCON, is expected to formally declare the hearing open.
