Festus Keyamo, Nigeria’s minister of aviation and aerospace development has mocked the African Democratic Congress (ADC)  over the defection of Peter Obi, former governor of Anambra state to the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).

Keyamo, in a post shared on his X handle on Thursday, used a romantic analogy to describe the political development, suggesting that the ADC failed to fully commit to Obi’s presidential ambition.

The minister said a “beautiful woman who knows her worth” would naturally leave a suitor unwilling to offer her a proper commitment for someone ready to do so immediately.

“A bachelor loves a young, beautiful woman so much and thinks she’s actually the best of his girlfriends, but refuses to assure her she’d be the first wife,” Keyamo wrote.

According to him, the woman eventually left for another suitor who valued her better and offered immediate assurance.

“Haba! bachelor, why not just stick with your other woman and let her be? This is just the case of Peter Obi and the ADC,” he added.
