Yemi Osinbajo, Nigeria’s vice president on Sunday night held a closed-meeting with Kaduna State All Progressives Congress (APC) delegates and other stakeholders to seek their votes ahead of the party’s presidential primaries.

The vice president who is one of the APC presidential aspirants, arrived at Umaru Musa Yar’Adua Indoor Hall, Kaduna, venue of the meeting at about 7:37 pm, discussed with the delegates, though what he told them was not known as journalists were not allowed into the hall. The meeting ended at about 9:25pm.

Governor Nasir El-Rufai, deputy governor, Dr. Hadiza Balarabe, speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Hon. Yusuf Zailani were among APC stakeholders who attended the meeting.

However, a delegate who spoke on condition of anonymity, told Leadership that Osinbajo appealed to Kaduna delegates to vote for him to clinch the ruling party’s presidential ticket

He said, “ The vice president spoke extensively on why delegates should vote for him to emerge the APC presidential candidate. Osinbajo appealed to Kaduna delegates to vote for the best and we will take a stand collectively. We assured the vice president of our support,” he said.
