Karim Benzema has once again expressed his desire for Kylian Mbappe to join him at Real Madrid, stating that Madrid would score twice the amount of goals with the Paris Saint-Germain forward in the team.
The Real Madrid striker spoke about various topics in an interview with L’Equipe, and started with the first leg of his side’s Champions League quarter-final tie with Chelsea on Wednesday.
“There is no favourite,” Benzema said.
“Look at our matches against PSG: we were the favourites in the first leg, maybe.
“And in the second leg, PSG became huge favourites.
“So that means nothing. Chelsea are a very good team and we will go there looking to get a good result.”
He then stated his desire for Mbappe to sign for Los Blancos this summer and highlighted their strong connection on the pitch.
“I like playing with (Mbappe) in the national team and I would like to play with him at club level,” Benzema stated.
“I believe that we would score twice as many goals – or even three times the amount!
“We have a great connection in the national team because we each know what the other one will do.
“For example, we both like going to the left but we will never both be there at the same time.”
