The Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2019 election, Atiku Abubakar, has condemned the recent attack by Boko Haram in Garkida, a town in Adamawa State, northern Nigeria.
The Witness reports that the former Vice President in a post on the micro-blogging site, Twitter, consoled those affected by the attack.
Abubakar described the attacks by Boko Haram as an unbecoming and cowardly act.
His words: “The attack by Boko Haram against lives and properties of innocent Nigerians is unbecoming.
“My prayers are with the people of Garkida in my home state of Adamawa over the cowardly attack that happened over the weekend.
“May God give the affected families fortitude to bear the loss.”
The Witness reports that Boko Haram insurgents attacked Garkida, a town in Gombi, a local government area in the north of Adamawa State over the weekend.
The World’s deadliest terrorist group killed people and destroyed properties in an attack which came after the insurgents had attacked and killed about 30 travellers in Auno in Maiduguri, Borno State.
