Maduka Okoye, Super Eagles first choice goalkeeper, has been ruled out of the Nigerian squad to face Ghana in World Cup playoffs.
Okoye who was among players still being expected, was ruled out of the encounter on Tuesday on account of an undisclosed illness.
Nigerian Super Eagles face the Black Stars of Ghana in a the two-legged affair set for the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Ghana, this Friday and the Moshood Abiola Stadium next week Tuesday.
The development, which was announced on the official Facebook page of the Super Eagles, means that Okoye joins Leicester City pair of Wilfred Onyinye Ndidi and Ademola Lookman on the ‘uncertainty/unavailable list’ ahead of the encounter.
Lookman was absent at the weekend when The Foxes beat Brentford in the Premier League, while Ndidi has an injury.
