Bola Ahmed Tinubu, presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has declared that the party is united after meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari and vice president, Yemi Osibanjo.
Tinubu, a former governor of Lagos who emerged APC presidential candidate on Wednesday, had on Thursday night, proceeded to the state house, Abuja where he met both Buhari and Osinbajo.
There had been speculations about bad blood between the Osibanjo and Tinubu camps, following the decision of the vice president to seek the APC presidential ticket, a move considered as an affront by Tinubu’s supporters.
Osibanjo had also refused to step down for the former Lagos State governor who appointed him as attorney general of Lagos while he was governor and had reportedly nominated him to be vice presidential candidate in 2015, during the APC primary.
The move was thought to have escalated tension between the two camps.
However, after a visit to the state house, Tinubu took to his twitter account on Friday to declare that they are united.
“United! May God Almighty crown our efforts with success as we embark on the journey to a greater Nigeria,” he wrote.
