The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) says it will no longer negotiate with the federal government over issues that prompted its ongoing strike action.
This is as the union on Monday, declared an indefinite strike following the federal government’s failure to meet its demands.
ASUU in a statement signed by Emmanuel Osodeke, its president, after a meeting of its executives in Abuja, said the majority of its chapters across universities keyed into the decision to go on indefinite strike.
Beyond the indefinite strike, the lecturers said they would boycott further talks with the federal government until when another government is formed after the exit of President Muhammadu Buhari on May 29, 2023.
ASUU had declared the commencement of a strike on Monday, February 14, 2022, and has been lingering for over six months.
