Senate President Bukola Saraki has called for an emergency meeting comprising principal officers of the National Assembly on Tuesday.
Saraki called for the meeting amid intense pressure to reconvene the assembly over certain issues.
THE WITNESS learnt that the presiding federal lawmakers would also meet with Professor Mahmood Yakubu, chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), on the same day.
“NASS leadership will tomorrow meet at noon to consider some national issues. The National Assembly leadership comprises both @NGRSenate and @HouseNGR,” Bamikole Omisore, an aide to Saraki, tweeted.
“It will be followed by another meeting with the leadership of @inecnigeria led by its chairman, Prof Mahmud Yakubu.”
The Senate and the House of Representatives proceeded on annual recess on 24 July to reconvene on September 25.
