Liverpool forward Mohammed Salah, has expressed regret over his team’s second defeat to Real Madrid in Champions League final in a space of four years.
Madrid had defeated the English side 3-1 to lift the trophy in 2018.
The Spanish giants on Saturday, beat Liverpool again by a lone goal to lift the coveted European trophy for the 14th time in Paris.
Salah who was undone by the heroics of Thibaut Courtois, Real Madrid goalkeeper who was man of the match, took to his twitter account on Thursday to reflect on the defeat.
“I cannot express in words how much we wanted to bring that trophy back to Liverpool but in the end we couldn’t,” Salah wrote.
“I cannot thank the fans enough for your support. It has been a very long season but a part of me wishes the next one starts again tomorrow.”
