Protesting members of the Nigerian Labour Congress ( NLC), who have stormed the Lagos State House at Alausa, Ikeja, say they will not leave unless Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu or his representative addresses them.
The protest is in solidarity with the Academic Union of Universities( ASUU) that has been on strike for the past five months.
Speaking, Mrs. Agnes Sessy, Lagos State Chairman of NLC, said, “We are waiting for Mr. Governor. This letter must be delivered today. We are waiting for him or his representative to collect our letter. We will wait.”
Some of the notable unions involved in the protest are the Academic Staff Union of Universities, Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities, The Joint Action Committee of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities and Non-Academic Staff Union of Allied and Educational Institutions, Nigerian Union of Teachers, among others.
