The minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami and the executive vice chairman of Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Prof Umar Garba Danbatta were named among the ‘Top 10 Tech Leaders in Nigeria 2020’, by the annual World Digital Exhibition (Worldex).
Others in the recognition list include the CEO of MTN Nigeria Plc, Mr Ferdinand Moolman, and the executive vice chairman of Globacom Limited, Mrs Bella Disu,
Worldex is a technology trade fair that seeks to link up Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) with the rest of the global technology community. The annual event is held in Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria.
The “Worldex Africa Top 10 Tech Leaders” programme recognises and honours the most influential men and women in both the public and private sector who drive the growth of the ICT industry throughout the SSA region. Each week Worldex focuses on one of the 47 countries that make up this region which is the second most populated in the world after Asia.
The other people listed for Nigeria are Ms Funke Opeke, the CEO of MainOne Cable Nigeria Limited; Mrs. Juliet Ehimuan Chiazor, the director of Google Nigeria/West Africa; and Arc. Yusuf Kazaure, the former CEO of Galaxy Backbone Plc who is now the chairman of Nigerian Communications Satellite Limited.
The rest are: Mr Leo Stan Ekeh, chairman of Zinox Technologies Limited; Mr Mitchell Elegbe, founder/CEO of Interswitch Group, and Mr John Obaro, CEO of SystemSpecs Nigeria Limited.
