Over one thousand persons drawn from different political parties, including the Peoples Democratic Party in ward eleven, cable point, in Oshimili South LGA, Asaba decamped to the All Progressives Congress, APC.
A former woman leader of PDP in the area, Mrs. Helen Otakpor, who led the decampees to the APC ward eleven secretariat, said they decided to dump their former party due to massive intimidation, denial of justice and recognition of members to be placed in their rightful positions. Other decampees, who spoke were Mrs. Ifeyinwa Ntauko and Mrs. Charles Delight.
They described the leadership of the APC as the best thing that has ever happened to Nigerians, and used the occasion to call on others yet to identify with the party to do so, so as to be part of the good tidings of Buhari/Osinbajo led administration. Dr. Okeya specifically commended the former PDP woman leader in the area for her giant strides to pull out with her members to join the APC.
The APC Ward Chairman commended some leaders of the party at national and state amongst them, President Muhammadu Buhari and his vice, Prof. Osinbajo; Olorogun Otega Emerhor, Prophet Jones Erue, Chief Cyril Ogodo, Chief Okafor and Hon. Samuel Agili, among others, for their support and relentless efforts towards the growth of the party in the area.
