Samuel Ortom, governor of Benue State has lost his bid to represent the Benue North West Senatorial District in the National Assembly.
Ortom, who was the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the election lost to Mr. Titus Zam of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
In the result announced by the Senatorial Collation Officer, Prof. Rufus Shaa’to in Makurdi, the APC candidate polled a total of 143,151 votes to defeat Ortom, who garnered 106,882 votes, while the Labour Party, LP, candidate Mr. Mark Gbillah scored 51,950 votes.
