Segun Lamidi, has been honoured with the title of Akeweje of Ife OLUKOTUN.
He was among the sons and daughters of the community who were honoured during the 2022 annual cultural festival of the ancient city.
The occasion was well attended by both indigenes and non indigenes of the community.
Notable among them were the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, who was represented by the commissioner of environment, Mr Omofaiye.
Earlier, the Olokutun of Ife OLUKOTUN, Oba Shuaibu Aiyegbajeje, noted that Chief Lamidi was chosen for the honour because of his consistent believe in human capital development and his unwavering commitment to youth empowerment in the community and beyond.
The Akeweje of Ife OLUKOTUN, Chief Lamidi, expressed gratitude to the community and the traditional council of the community for finding him worthy of this honour.
He noted that the honour is surely a call for higher and bigger responsibilities.
Other personalities in the community were honoured by the community, among these are the Secretary to Kogi State government, Folasade A. Ayoade, PhD among others.
The President of the community’s development union, Ife OLUKOTUN Descendants Union, Dr Kehinde Mohammed, thanked all sons and daughters of the community for a successful organization.
