The National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, has officially handed over 19 kidnapped victims, recently rescued by security forces, to the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa.
The brief ceremony occurred on Thursday at the National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC) within the Office of the National Security Adviser in Abuja.
Among those rescued were Ambassador Gideon Yohanna, the former Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier-General Maharazu Tsiga (retired), who had endured 56 days in captivity, and 17 other victims, including a child.
Both Ribadu and Musa expressed their commitment to relentlessly pursuing the criminals responsible, ensuring their eradication and the restoration of peace.
Ribadu remarked, “Thanks to the efforts of our armed forces and other security services, we have been able to rescue and return our people. This time, we are especially grateful for the return of prominent figures who have served this nation. We are thankful for their lives and to those who made their rescue possible.”
He further emphasized, “This operation is ongoing and being carried out quietly, but rest assured, we will continue to hunt down the perpetrators.”
