Mallam Mele Kyari, the group managing director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, has clinched the 2021 BusinessDay Newspaper Oil & Gas Awards as “Energy Executive of the Year” .
HRM King Alfred Papapreye Diete-Spiff, the Amanyanabo of Twon-Brass, presented the award to the GMD at the occasion.
According to the business newspaper, Kyari has been able to guarantee energy security for Nigeria by ensuring that the Train 7 project was not only signed but final investment decision was taken.
“He also said that the fortunes of the NNPC have been turned around from a corporation that has consistently been making losses to one that posted its first profit of N287bn in its 44-year history” it said.
