The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has commenced Batch A of STEM Bootcamp for Kids (SB4KIDS) between 8-11 years old, in partnership with the National Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics (NCAIR) Nigeria.
The programme is currently taking place simultaneously in Abuja, Kano and Lagos.
In a series of tweets via its verified official Twitter handle, the agency said the programme is in line with the NITDA’s Strategic Roadmap and Action Plan (SRAP2021-2024), which is aimed at catching the children young to enable them be conversant with Emerging Technologies around the world.
According to it, the kids will go through a series of hands-on training in the areas of Extended Reality, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics and Drone technologies, Digital Communication, and the Internet of Things in a 10-day training period.
“They are being trained on Extended Reality, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics and Drone Technologies, Digital Communication, Internet of Things, 3D Design, Coding, Virtual Reality, and Digital communication”, it read
