The Nigeria Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) recently disbursed ₦107.2 million to 796 beneficiaries at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University (NAU), Awka, Anambra State.

NELFUND announced the disbursement on Wednesday in a post on its official X account, following the receipt of a letter of appreciation from NAU.

“We are pleased to announce the successful disbursement of funds to beneficiaries under the Student Loan Program: ₦107.2m disbursed to 796 beneficiaries at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka,” the post read.

According to NELFUND, this milestone underscores its continued commitment to supporting educational institutions and empowering students through targeted financial assistance.

NAU, in the appreciation letter signed by Gozie Egwuatu, the institution’s bursar, and addressed to Akintunde Sawyerr, NELFUND’s Managing Director/CEO, acknowledged receipt of funds for the second batch of disbursement for successful students for the 2024-2025 session NELFUND scheme.

“We write to acknowledge with thanks the receipt of our second batch disbursement on 18 July, 2025 through our Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) account worth ₦107.2m in respect of our 796 students of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka in Anambra state tuition fees for 2024—2025 session by the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND),” the statement read.

“With regards to the above, | wish to thank the entire management team of NELFUND for their kind gesture and the assurance that the fund will be disbursed to the beneficiaries accordingly.

“We are looking forward to the verification of our third batch for the 2024—2025 session. Please, accept the assurance of the Acting Vice-Chancellor’s esteemed regards.”
