The management of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), has directed the reopening of its headquarters in Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital with effects from Thursday, 18th June 2020.
The directive was contained in an internal memo dated 15th June 2020 from the management of the commission to its directors, heads of department/ units and all staff.
In the memo signed by Silas Anyanwu and seen by this newspaper on Monday, the commission said, “the fumigation and decontamination exercise that informed the temporary shutdown of the office complex had been completed, while the testing exercise for staff is ongoing.
“In view of the foregoing, management has ”directed the lifting of the shutdown ordered on May 28th as from 18th June, 2020″.
Recall that the NDDC had ordered temporary shutdown of the its headquarters and asked the entire staff to submit themselves for coronavirus test following the death of Ibanga Etang, the acting executive director of finance of the commission who died of coronavirus complications.
