NBA Africa, The Africa version of American basketball body, the National Basketball Association, NBA and alcoholic wine giant, Hennessy, have made history by building the first floating basketball court in Nigeria. The floating basketball court, was displayed on Thursday, at the Ikoyi link bridge in Lagos, in preparation for the first NBA Crossover, an invite-only lifestyle event that will take place in Africa for the first time on Saturday, February 5, 2022, at Landmark beach front in Lagos, Nigeria.
The event is expected to showcase the convergence of the NBA and popular culture through the art, fashion, music and technology that surround today’s game.
The floating basketball court, which lights up beautifully at night, would be used for activities at the NBA crossover service on Saturday. This was made known by organizers from both brands, at the display of the floating court. The display will take place between February 3 to February 5.
On February 5, Hennessy will be the Presenting Partner of a celebrity basketball game at Landmark beach front featuring Nigerian artists, performers and media personalities.
NBA Africa and Hennessy will also donate a basketball court to the Lagos State parks and gardens agency at the Ikorodu recreational park as part of their Lagos State’s commitment to providing people in the state with access to sport.
