Hon Adewale Temitope Adedeji, member of the Lagos state house of assembly, Ifako-Ijaiye 01 has revealed he plans to govern Lagos State in the nearest future.
The WITNESS reports that Temitope Adedeji made this revelation while speaking as a special guest during the Youth Town Hall meeting organised by the councillor, ward C2, Ifako-Ijaiye, Hon. Ibrahim Adenekan.
The event held at the Ifako-Ijaiye LG secretariat was themed, “The role of youths at the forthcoming 2023 elections” and had in attendance notable youths from within the LG.
In his address, Hon. Adewale shared his political story with the youths and how he braced the odds to finally pitch tent with the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu.
“I went through a lot before I got to where I am today. I remember how I got noticed by Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. We were at a rally in Epe when he noticed me and told me to come to his house. When I got there, he asked if I could mobilise youths to fill a Teslim Balogun Stadium and I said yes. He asked me the capacity and I said one million. He laughed but that was the first contact with him.
“From there, I started resuming at his house for 9 months (At his entrance and made friends with the security people) until I finally got the breakthrough. In essence, what I am trying to say is that the youths must be ready to go for what they want. Nobody will give you power. You need to be ready and positioned for that,” he said.
According to him, since his days at the Lagos State Internal Revenue Service (LIRS), he had always dreamt big and one of his dreams is to be the Lagos State Governor.
He also advised the youths to shun political thuggery and say no to any politician trying to use them as instruments of destruction.
