Tragedy struck in the early hours of yesterday as a parishioner allegedly hung himself at a catholic church premises in Creek road, Port Harcourt.
He was found dead in the church hall with a rope round his neck. The deceased who was simply identified as Kachi was reportedly an active member of the church. Nobody could say what prompted him to commit suicide.
Residents gathered around the church when news of the sad incident broke out.
Some described him as an active member of the church, adding that he was a Mass Servant at a time. They also said he should be below 24 years of age.
Continuing, some said he was allegedly driving a taxi and had problem with the owner of the vehicle.
“ I don’t know if it was because of the problem he had with the owner of the vehicle that made him take his life. I heard the owner of the taxi collected it from him,” a source who knew him said.
The sources continued that things had been relatively hard with the young man before the sad incident. The Police confirmed the development.
