Late renowned gospel singer, Bolaji Olanrewaju, widely known as Big Bolaji, has been laid to rest at All Souls Private Cemetery in Ido, located in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State.

The passing of Big Bolaji on April 19, at the age of 50 following a brief illness, plunged the gospel music community into mourning.

Family members, close friends, and notable figures from the gospel music scene gathered at the Hall of Grace, Jogor Centre in Ibadan on Wednesday for the funeral, which commenced with a lying-in-state ceremony.

Mourners watched in solemn silence as pallbearers carried Big Bolaji’s flower-adorned casket into the venue for the service.

Despite the grief in the air, the ceremony also served as a celebration of Big Bolaji’s influential life. A tribute video highlighting his musical legacy and spiritual impact moved many to tears and drew heartfelt applause.

The funeral drew several prominent gospel artists including Tosin Bee, Mike Abdul, Bidemi Olaoba, and Yetunde Are. They were joined by popular comedian Woli Agba and numerous well-wishers in bidding the beloved singer farewell.

A dignified burial procession later accompanied Big Bolaji’s remains to their final resting place at All Souls Private Cemetery.
