Kogi East: PDP Youth Vanguard lauds, queue behind ADC’s Victor Adoji for senate

The PDP National Youth Vanguard in Kogi East Senatorial Zone has lauded the mobilization and reconciliation efforts of Victor A. Adoji, the ADC senatorial candidate for Kogi East Senatorial Zone in the zone.

Rising from a consultative parley with stakeholders in the zone and selected media organizations in Lokoja,Coordinator of the group in Kogi State, Comrade (Barr.) Ibrahim Ocheja described the ambition of Victor A. Adoji as God sent and in the interest of the global Igala nation which has suffered the enormous consequences of bad leadership especially between 2015 and now.

Barr. Ibrahim who had initially spoken as a guest on the early morning breakfast political show hosted on the network service of Radio Nigeria listed the 9 LGA’s in Kogi East as the most disadvantaged in the North Central Zone and Northern Nigeria as a whole.

In His words, Barr. Ibrahim said “what we lack in Kogi East is leadership and 2019 for us is a moment of correction because we as a people have resolved to stand up to and break away from individuals who consider themselves demi-gods and have held our people under a gluttonous grip.”

“We have a ranking lawmaker as what should ordinarily be a senator in the person of Atai Aidoko Ali but His experience, clout and everything He is worth has revolved only around Him as a person, His multi billionaire Abuja residence and His office in the National Assembly. What we have been forced to live with is an individual who is aloof, bereft of humanity and lacking in emotional intelligence. We will not continue with such a figure in 2019 because we are determined to catch up with the rest of the world on terms of advancement.”

Speaking at the same event, Kogi East coordinator of the PDP National Youth Vanguard, Nurudeen Okpanachi who noted that the group has adopted the #Correction2019 slogan lamented that whereas Sen. Aidoko who by virtue of  being a senator in the last 4 years has earned at least N700 million in running cost, allowances, constituency project funds and other benefits held on trust for the people of Kogi East, he has failed to positively impact his zone in any known way.

According to Nurudeen, “it is only for the records that I must say that the biggest single divisive factor in Kogi East senatorial zone as at today is Sen. Atai Aidoko Ali. I also want to state plainly that the largest organized scam in Igala land happened under the supervision of Senator Aidoko right inside His national assembly office.

“Hundreds of Igala citizens were reached out to and asked to submit details of their companies to be shortlisted as vendors for government contracts via the office of sustainable development goals SDG’s. This process was coordinated by our own senator. Religious leaders, traditional rulers, leaders of thought, youth leaders and various other persons took part. Till date, not one of those individuals have received any positive feedback despite the fact that their counterparts elsewhere have either been long mobilized to site or paid for job completed. To which direction did the share of Kogi East people go?”

Addressing newsmen during a press briefing marking the end of the parley, Publicity Secretary of the group in Kogi East Esther Ele Ojogbane noted that the PDP National Youth Vanguard has taken a position which is already in the public domain.

Ojogbane said that “the PDPNYV has a custom of identifying with individuals whose ideals align with our core aims. In this case, Victor Alewo Adoji is that individual. We will not bend our rules to accommodate paper weights like Sen. Aidoko. We will not erode our values to advance the candidacy of people we cannot trust to be responsible and accountable.”

“We note that Sen. Aidoko has shown sufficient disrespect and disregard for the Igala nation. We acknowledge that He has exploited the kindness of the Igala people for over a decade. Now is the time to put an end to this anomaly. We encourage Him to donate more antiquated cars to His yes men. We urge Him to stay put in His Abuja mansion and dole out cash to His lapdogs but at the right time, we will make Him understand that the core values, the ethos and the fundamental attributes of the Igala people cannot be bought with money.”

Sen. Atai Aidoko Ali is a ranking congressman who lately benefitted from an automatic return ticket offer made to rAPC federal lawmakers who defected to the PDP and lately some PDP lawmakers; a measure used to stabilize the party during a round of defections and counter defections which rocked the National Assembly in 2018.
