Kogi East ADC senatorial candidate, Victor Adoji escapes assassination attempt

The Kogi East senatorial candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the 2019 elections slated for tomorrow Saturday 23rd February, 2019, Dr. Victor Alewo Adoji, has escaped assassination as his vehicle was attacked by gunmen in Agbeji, Dekina, Kogi State on Friday.

According to a Facebook post by the senatorial hopeful on Friday, the gunmen (8) with 4 AK47 and 4 Pump Action having failed with their mission, made away with cash meant for logistics.

The post reads: “8 Gunmen (we have all their details and photographs) with 4 AK47 and 4 Pump Action picked up a guy driving Dr. Victor Alewo Adoji’s decoy car at Agbeji, Dekina, in a failed attempt to grab and assassinate the Senatorial hopeful in tomorrow’s election.

“The gunmen who later released the driver and police detail had lamented their unsuccessful attempt and warned the driver that his boss wont be so lucky next time.

“The gunmen, however, made away with cash meant for logistics.

“Please pray for Kogi for we shall not be sitting ducks for evil people.

“We thank God for the life of DVAA and the guys abducted. There shall be no loss!.”The statement concluded.

Recall that political thugs allegedly sponsored by the Kogi State chapter of the All Progressive Congress (APC)recently attacked Adoji, leaving several people injured at Ejule.

Adoji was allegedly attacked by suspected supporters of the APC at Ejule in Ofu local government council.

Reports say that while Victor Adoji and his supporters were holding consultations, some elements believed to be working for the APC attacked the venue with sophisticated weapons, shooting sporadically and in the melee scores were wounded, canopies and chairs were destroyed.
