President Bola Tinubu has extended the tenure of Kemi Nandap as the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) until December 31, 2026.

The extension was announced in a statement issued on Monday, signed by Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

In the statement, President Tinubu praised Nandap for her leadership, highlighting the significant progress made in border management, the modernization of immigration processes, and the enhancement of national security under her guidance.

“Under her leadership, the Nigeria Immigration Service has seen remarkable advancements in its core responsibilities, including improvements in border management, the modernization of immigration systems, and strengthened national security measures.

“The President commended the Comptroller-General for her outstanding leadership and urged her to continue focusing on the Service’s strategic priorities, which are in line with his administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda,” the statement said.

Nandap, who joined the NIS on October 9, 1989, was appointed Comptroller-General on March 1, 2024, with an initial tenure set to conclude on August 31, 2025.
