City, who had trailed 0-2 against a spirited Aston Villa side determined to come tops on the afternoon and hand Liverpool the trophy, fought valiantly to win 3-2.
Liverpool on the other hand, overcame Wolves 3-1 to finish in second place with 92 points.
Meanwhile, Norwich, Burnley and Watford are relegated.
