Amaju Pinnick, president of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), has said he would leave when his current tenure expires and won’t be vying for a third term in office.
Pinnick, who is being urged to resign following the failure of the Super Eagles to make the Qatar World Cup, said contrary to speculations in some quarters, he is not interested in a third term bid.
Speaking on Arise TV, Pinnick said even though he is eligible for a third term bid, he would not consider the option because his time in the glass house has taken a toll on his relationship with his family.
“I’m eligible to run according based on the status. Do I want to run ?, It’s a no no, my family is very key to me , they said it’s taking a toll on me and the family. They believed that I’ve done my best and it’s time to move on . It’s a regrettable decision, but it’s the best,” he said.
Pinnick has been in charge of football in the country since 2014.
